What is the Red Tail Ticket Store?

Kids earn tickets in class, in music, in PE, in the library, on the playground, in the cafeteria..... Pretty much anywhere they are going the extra mile and being outstanding students. Those hard-earned tickets are then used to purchase incredible prizes, yummy treats, and coupons for special rewards.

Store Schedule

Red Tail store will be open from 1:30 PM to 3:35 PM in the Kiva. The store will always be scheduled for the first full week of each month, beginning in October. Monday the store will be in the Kindergarten, First grade, and Second grade kiva, Tuesday will be in the Third and Fourth grade kiva, and Wednesday will be in the fifth and sixth grade kiva.

TEACHERS:

You will be able to send out your students ANY time during the two hours that the store is open, as well as send them to another kiva if they were unable to purchase on their “shop” day. To minimize shopping time, we will have the same items available all year long at the same price. This will give students the opportunity to make their selections (ponder, vacillate, phone a friend, and receive peer feedback) before they come to the store and should expedite the process of shopping. The Redtail store will be run by PTA volunteers. You do not need to accompany your students, unless you want to. We will encourage students to return to the classroom and put their purchases in their backpack. You can verify with your class if you allow them to bring their purchases to their desk. (We understand it may be difficult for French classes because of switching back and forth)

STUDENTS:

A friendly reminder to students, that we don’t accept white tickets unless specified. We also don’t accept photocopies, hand-colored, or altered Redtails. (you know I have to say this because it’s happened). If students remember to write their name on their Redtails in pen, others will be less likely to steal them. Last year we seemed to see a lot of tears over stolen Redtail tickets. Students should protect and care for them as if they were money. The store and its affiliates are not responsible for lost or stolen Redtail tickets, although we feel real bad for ya.

COUPONS!

We are adding coupons to the store this year. There will be a list of what each coupon says. Some include: An extra recess with a friend, don’t have to do half a homework assignment, pizza with the principal, and jump to the very front of the lunch line. These coupons will need to be approved by the student’s teacher and the student needs to present the coupon to use it. If the teacher does not want the student to have the coupon, for any reason, we will refund the student their Redtail tickets.
